We are hiring! The National Federal Transportation Director will support our US DOT national and regional contracts. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives on helping Federal clients strategize to improve the US transportation system address their aged infrastructure and lead the Nation on innovative and transformational transportation solutions. The selected candidate will be a part of client account management team and empowered to apply technical expertise and experience to manage project teams on Federal projects. Atkins is currently seeking a National Federal Project Director to join our Federal Group. This position can sit anywhere.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Current relationships/experience with Federal Department of Transportation agencies preferred.

  • You will help with business development with and execute and manage the contracts including but not limited to all Federal DOT agencies.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in field of civil or transportation engineering. Graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus.

  • This level may be achieved by technical professionals or managers with twelve years of experience since B.S. or eleven years since M.S., with at least three of these years in the Senior Project Manager position with highly complex project management responsibility.

  • Professional registration PE is required, and Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) (conditional).

  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills, public speaking and persuasive ability; very strong financial management, team management, and leadership skill.

  • Ability to manage and coordinate efforts of various projects to produce budgeted profits and overall results.

  • Possesses specific expertise to the extent that the individual is regarded as a regional or potentially national expert in a specific discipline, contract delivery method, particular type of project, planning process, design method, or modeling technique.

  • Personal computer proficiency is required.
