Quality Lab Tech
We are currently looking for:
We are currently looking for a Quality Lab Tech to be based out of Springfield, MO. Reporting to the Quality Lead, this person will be responsible for performing daily quality testing, maintaining daily quality documentation, and support Quality technicians daily activates.
What you’ll do:
- Document production, quality, and testing paperwork to the DMS system.
- Maintain quality procedures outlined in the Quality manual
- Test received raw materials
- Test finished goods
- Support identification and containment of suspect material
- Maintain daily paper paperwork
- Review and validate daily paperwork and support the production shift
- Ensures day-to-day quality requirements are met and reports NCM, suspect material, and scrapped material.
- Document, label, and approve material, inventory of production tools and supplies.
- Support start-up and changeovers by validating first article inspections and compliant production.
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working environment and accurate records.
- Drives safety initiatives and ensures the lab is compliant with OSHA regulations.
- Notify the Safety Manager immediately of unsafe situations or incidents.
What you'll bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two (2) years’ work experience or a two-year degree in the specifics of engineering; work experience should be in a production and or quality environment performing the essential functions listed above, including supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with thermoplastic extrusion and/or materials with a quality focus.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or other similar software.
- Proficient with lab equipment and documentation processes and procedures
- Knowledge of Quality management systems, GMPs, and ISO 9001.
- Must be able to multi-task to support and maintain business functions.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete any required training
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
- Be well-versed in Atkore’s Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
