Who we are looking for:
Atkore is currently searching for a Regional Sales Manager, Water Products for the Northeast US region. Reporting to the Director of Sales/East- Water the Regional Sales Manager will have primary responsibility for driving revenue and market share growth on all of Atkore’s irrigation, sewer, waste, drain vent products across our business units through the development and execution of our strategic initiatives. This person should ideally be located in or around Dallas, Texas.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role and/or industry. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do:
- Drive continued growth for our product portfolio of irrigation, sewer, waste, drain vent products through our network of agents and electrical distributors, as well as key end user influencers and specifiers where applicable.
- Work with agent sales network to deliver top line revenue growth required to meet/exceed division goals.
- Demand creation of existing, proprietary, and new products at end user level.
- Educate, train & develop our Sales Agents and end users on products through lunch and learns, demonstrations, job site visits, and field training.
- Develop strategic sales programs to deliver profitable regional growth.
- Execute pre-call planning and in-depth reporting in Salesforce.com.
- Enter, track, manage, and report on projects, opportunities, and territory sales plans using Salesforce.com and other tools as needed.
- Attend trade shows and conferences as needed.
- Collaborate and partner closely with the National Sales Director – Water as well as a counterpart in the Central US.
- Manage performance of Sales Agents and make changes as warranted.
- Conduct sales objective reviews by product for all agencies and each direct salesperson.
- Profile and report on competitive market intelligence, including strengths and weakness.
- Assist in the evaluation and processing of field quality complaints and returns.
- Identify opportunities for and drive process improvements working closely with functional departments and business units and create standard work.
- Manage travel & entertainment expenses in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete other projects, initiatives, duties, and responsibilities as required.
What you'll bring:
- Must be willing and able to work remotely and travel 60% of the time.
- Bachelor's Degree required with 5 plus years of related experience in sales.
- Must have a minimum 3 years of proven industry or related experience.
- Experience working with a distribution/manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Excellent Communication, Negotiating Skills, Presentation Skills, Analytical Skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Windows Applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
- Prior use of Salesforce preferred.

Within 3 Months, You’ll:
- Complete your new hire “Immersion” so that you are ready to rock in your new role.
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
- Have a fully developed strategic “go-to-market” plan and have identified key customers, engineers, specifiers and end user contacts.
Within 6 Months, You’ll:
- Be actively executing your “go-to-market” plan.
- Have made contact with all major customers, engineers, specifiers and end users.
- Be achieving sales and demonstrable market penetration.
Within 12 Months, You’ll:
- Be driving towards forecasted growth, sales and budget performance.
- Understand the unique dimensions of your territory.
