SUMMARY:

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing compliance responsibilities needed to support all departments of the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a point of contact for the company’s general compliance needs including implementing compliance projects, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee and implement vendor, consumer protection, privacy, and data security compliance projects
  • Assist with regulatory and internal audits
  • Monitor legal/regulatory changes, determine the impact on current Company practices and operations, and assist with implementation
  • Coordinate, investigate and respond to consumer/insurance department complaints
  • Assist with regulatory compliance in the content, implementation and filing of forms and endorsements
  • Implement and/or assist with compliance matters in general and identify potential regulatory or compliance gaps within the Company
  • Ensure internal processes conform to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and other requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in the fields of insurance compliance, vendor management, data privacy or related operations.
  • Ability to improve processes and learn complex subject matters with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures and work well without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with consumer protection, privacy, and data security laws a plus.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to think independently, to collect, compile and organizing facts and figures in accordance with established procedures. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.
