Reports to: Administrator
General Description:
Responsible for assisting in coordination of supplies, clerical work, smooth flow of patient related communication, written and verbal communication between medical, nursing, ancillary, staff, transportation companies and other business clients. Assembles/maintains patient files and unit logs for review within a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in performing clerical duties in support of patient care and unit standardization.
2. Assisting in maintaining medical records.
3. Responsible in maintaining archive records
4. Sorts all mail and routes appropriately.
5. Photocopies pertinent articles/documents and distributes to appropriate personnel.
6. Maintains accurate filing system.
7. Insures security and confidentiality of all records, documents, and information
8. Assisting in preparing all necessary materials for the Administrator and members of the multi-disciplinary team prior to meeting, conferences etc.
9. Assist with computer duties.
10. Receptionist to patients, families, and visitors.
11. Answer telephone utilizing proper telephone etiquette.
12. Facilitates the flow of information in the dialysis center and when appropriate with outside institutions, business companies, individuals and others
13. Assumes responsibilities and displays initiative for adherence to the Center standards.
14. Prepares flow sheets and laboratory sheets
15. Records and files lab data in appropriate area
16. Contact patient’s transportation companies.
17. Prepares blood specimens including labeling tubes for collection, spinning collected specimens and packing specimens for shipping.
Requirements
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent work experience
Minimum Field-or-Expertise: Previous secretarial required
Working knowledge of office equipment
Ability to coordinate numerous assignments, delegates and follow through to completion
