Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Social Worker, Pediatric Endocrinology at Morristown Center at Morristown Medical Center.
Responsibilities
Pediatric Endocrinology in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Social Worker to support our program. Key responsibilities will include:
1) Responding to inpatient referrals for newly diagnosed diabetes patients and previously diagnosed patients admitted with complications (including DKA), as well as new transgender and gender diverse patients.
2) Confers with physicians, care teams, and identifies and prioritized psychosocial problem areas and patient/family needing social work intervention, including adjustment and chronic illness counseling.
3) Provides appropriate follow up with patient/family.
4) Works closely with KID-FIT program to help both patients and families.
Therapy themes include, but are not limited to adjustment, anxiety, needle-phobia, self-esteem, adolescent challenges, and family conflict.
Psychosocial themes include, but are not limited to financial, social, emotional and mental.

Minimum Education/Licensure:
Maintains a current NJ Social Worker License and is in good standing with the NJ Board of Social Work Examiners
Relevant Experience :
Previous experience with Peds. is required.
