Position Summary
The Bin Delivery Driver will safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty trucks and is responsible for the delivery and/or removal of waste or recycling containers to customers. The ideal candidate will be hard-working and enthusiastic, with an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass regular drug screenings.
Duties and Responsibilities

Operates vehicle by Atlas Disposal Industries safety rules and operating procedures, OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.

Performs pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and documents checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.).

Operates computerized mobile tablet to track progress on route, start and complete stops, and enters notes and landfill information.

Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Supervisor or Dispatch.

Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required or directed by Supervisor.

Works closely with Dispatch & Supervisor to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.

Immediately notifies Dispatch or Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.

Notifies Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed customers, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.

Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Supervisor.

Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.

Ensures the size and number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on the service list.

Qualifications
-
Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with an air-brake endorsement.

1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Holds an acceptable driving record.

Ability to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.

Mechanical knowledge, and painting and welding experience to help in the bin shop is a plus.

Ability to work independently and on a team.

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, and other physical requirements as necessary to complete the essential duties and responsibilities.
Work Environment and Expectations
The normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a heavy-duty vehicle. The Bin Delivery Driver will report to work at the Atlas Disposal Operations Facility in Sacramento. Shifts are Monday Friday starting at 5:00 am and shifts are typically 10 hours per day. Starting pay is $23 per hour with a $2 Safety Bonus that takes effect immediately.

Be able to push, pull, bend, twist, and lift up to 100 pounds.

Be exposed to a physical environment involving dirt, trash, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
