Position Summary
In this position, the successful candidate will apply her/his skills in fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) to lead our efforts in sorting cells for our IRC discovery platform and target identification. In addition, this individual will develop/optimize assays including primary tissue dissociation and work with a team to characterize the antibodies identified with our unique technology. The position will be embedded in a very dynamic and motivated team dedicated to the discovery of novel, antibody-based cancer therapies. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision to generate high quality data in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform sorting of immune cells into microplates for single cell sequencing
- Sorting of CRISPR modified cells for target identification
- Troubleshooting, optimization and development of experiment protocols and SOPs
- Processing and analysis of primary tissues from healthy and cancer patients
- Data analysis and presentation in cross-functional meetings
- Manage instrument maintenance, inventory, purchasing and lab organization
- Follow laboratory safety guidelines and practices
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- PhD 2, MS 8, BS 14 years of relevant experience in Cell Biology, Immunology, Tumor Biology or related field with significant flow cytometry experience
- Direct experience in FACS/flow cytometry
- Experience with BD Fusion, BD Aria, Cytoflex, iQue a plus
- Experience working with primary tissues in a BSL2 environment
- Must have excellent attention to detail, organization, planning skills, and the ability to work under timeline in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
