We are looking for a dynamic Area Controller to review financial performance for the Madison Marriott & the Normal Marriott hotels and monitor key metrics to improve overall hotel performance while ensuring compliance in finance policy, procedures and practices.

Salary Range: 70k - 90k

TheAreaControllerwill be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

  • Ensurecompliance with property internal controls, Atrium SOPs,and safeguarding propertyassets;

  • Support and completingannual and interim externalaudits;

  • Managethe accounts receivableand accounts payable functions,whileensuring the accounts are in goodstanding;

  • Confirm accurate credit card and cashdeposits;

  • ManageSales and Use Tax accruals and accounts as well as ensuring compliance with all sales and use taxregulations;

  • Manageall daily processes inaccounting systemsincluding accurate and timely reporting of dailyrevenue;

  • Monitor house funds, including cashier variances,providingcoachingand disciplinary action,asrequired;

  • Performmonth endtasks and general ledger items, working with Corporate Accounting team to complete financialreporting;

  • Providethe General Managersand department heads withprofitability and financial analysisto include laborreviews, forecasts andbudgets;

  • Manage direct reports by ensuring Associates understand employment practices, recommending employment decisions and corrective action, supporting performance management, and implementing discipline;and

  • Any and allother work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.

What you need to be considered for this role:

***Hospitality Experience***

3 years of Financial Accounting experience

2 years management experience

Strong knowledge of the accounts payable, income audit, and general ledger reconciliation functions

Bachelor's in accounting, Business, Finance, Management or other related discipline or equivalent experience

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Multi-property accounting experience

CertifiedPublicAccountant (CPA)or other related, professional certifications
