JOB SUMMARY: |
An ATS Project Development Engineer (PDE) supports the acquisition, growth, and expansion of direct to owner design-build Energy Performance Contracting (ESPC), ESCO, and other energy related services. This role includes working with both internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to identify and develop turnkey design-build energy contracting solutions. The ATS PDE reports to the ATS Energy Business Development Manager (BDM) and will lead the development and transition of an energy project from sales to Construction Management. The development of an energy project includes, but is not limited to, project scope of work development, cost estimating, energy engineering coordination, initial subcontractor/consultant, and internal team management, Energy Services Proposal development support, site field investigation and data gathering, utility incentive and energy efficiency grant management, and ongoing project management scoping support. The Project Development Engineer requires knowledge of building systems and the energy engineering field, but also requires strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communications skills while also being able to handle project and role ambiguity. The ideal candidate has C-suite sales experience, energy project and energy conservation measure development experience, energy sales experience, a solid understanding of building systems and controls, the ability to work independently and within a team, a strong work ethic, and is self-motivated. This is an exempt position. |

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: |
This position is office-based with the potential for occasional jobsite visits for training purposes. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Occasional lifting and exerting force up to 20 pounds may be required. |
