What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-op / Student Engineering position at ATS Corporation?

The Engineering Intern will learn and support the functionality of the engineering department(s).
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Applications:
- Convert SolidWorks drawings from engineering into a state that can be used for application proposal drawings.
- Provide support towards concepting and layout drawings with the team on build-to-print and new proposals.
- Generate proposal costing under team member supervision.
- Adhere to all International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards.
- Comply with all ATS Company policies.
Mechanical Engineering:
- Mechanical Engineering Design – the candidate will be added to a mechanical design team to participate with engineering concepts, designs, design reviews, releases, and process control.
- Configuration Group Support – Exposure and participation in the development and applications of mechanical engineering design standards through active participation with the Configuration Group.
- Job Shadowing – Development of the mechanical engineering design process through mentorship from a senior mechanical design engineer. Job shadowing will include participation in all mechanical engineering design events, the gate process, and skill set development.
Controls Engineering:
- Rotation of hardware design, programming and debugging – the candidate will assist controls engineers with their tasks and engage in these tasks under their guidance.
- Assist with Design/Programming for Rockwell Jog Cart – candidate will execute the design and programming tasks under guidance and direction of a controls engineer.
- Assist with creation of standard current consumption chart – the candidate will search for product literature at the manufacturer’s websites, identify the pertinent data and compile it into a table.
Validation:
- Review and clean up manufacturer’s literature catalog.
- Attach manufacturer’s literature and/or Declarations of Conformity to components in PLM and E-Plan
