What You’ll Do:
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our growing TikTok Studio working independently between production and legal affairs to clear content created in-house and content sourced from third parties. Title to be commensurate with experience.
This is a one year contract.
Responsibilities include:
- Review marketing creative and scrips to identify potential clearance issues and determine next steps to ensure appropriate clearance of names and places, artwork, music, props, etc.
- Serve as the main point of contact for production, marketing agency, and in-house legal teams
- Perform research to locate potential rights holders
- Initiate and manage communication efforts to obtain permissions for social media rights holders
- Advise content producers and marketing creative teams of clearance procedures, potential timelines, and company risk tolerances
- Review rough and final cuts of marketing videos and social media content within tight turnaround deadlines
- Track and resolve all requests from production and marketing agency teams for use of graphics/artwork/photographs/props/wardrobe/stills/footage/fonts/other using sound, logical independent judgment
- Secure necessary licenses and/or permissions via boilerplate forms and protocols
- Consult, as needed, with in-house counsel regarding complex legal matters
Who You Are:
- 3 years experience in an entertainment, marketing, digital media, and/or content (e.g., major film/TV/streaming/digital media production studio or network) high volume clearance position.
- Knowledge of copyright, trademark, right of publicity, and other legal concepts sufficient to identify and communicate issues to business and legal team.
- Superior organizational and record management skills including experience using computer applications to track and organize workflows.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to exercise appropriate judgment in executing tasks without supervision
- Working knowledge of social video content distribution platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram.
- Interest and/or experience working with digital creators a plus.
- Enthusiastic team player able to communicate efficiently while remaining calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent practical work experience.
