What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Scientist, Biology position at Attovia Therapeutics?
The successful candidate will be an essential part of the biology team focusing on the advancement of novel Attobody-based therapeutics that are designed to target immune signaling or cancer cells. This position requires previous project leadership experience and broad technical expertise in in vitro biology with a strong emphasis on an industrial mindset underpinned by critical thinking, multitasking, and the ability to propose new approaches and ideas. The candidate will lead a multifunctional team focused on developing a new Attobody therapeutic. Job responsibilities also include designing, performing, and managing in vitro and ex vivo cell-based experiments to examine mechanisms of action and potency of our emerging immunology and oncology therapeutics. This is an On-Site position.
\n- Lead a multifunctional project team focused on discovery and advancement of a novel Attobody therapeutic into preclinical development.
- Includes strategic guidance, oversight of project activities and timelines, and regular presentations to the management team.
- Design, perform, and oversee experiments with high complexity using various in vitro and ex vivo molecular and cell-based model systems/assays to support characterization of biologics against immunology and oncology targets.
- Select and manage CROs as needed for the design and execution of robust preclinical data packages to support drug discovery programs.
- Work collaboratively on multiple projects concurrently and coordinate activities across functions. Includes developing and presenting research plans and data to support project objectives.
- Support discovery and validation of new drug targets.
- PhD with 8 years of experience or MS with 15 years of experience in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or another relevant discipline.
- History of successful project team leadership in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Broad knowledge and technical experience in in vitro biology and a strong emphasis on an industrial mindset underpinned by critical thinking, multitasking, and the ability to propose new approaches and ideas.
- Management experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in designing and executing high throughput screening assays.
- Capable of working independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, demonstrating multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent troubleshooting, data analysis and interpretation skills are required. Great communication skills and team spirit are a must; the ability to present results at project team meetings and to management.
