What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL position at ATX Learning?
We are hiring a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional. The paraprofessional shall be working with students who require a behavioral aide who can also provide academic support.
Responsibilities – Paraprofessional/Teacher’s Aide:
Assist student in virtual sessions and help to complete work assigned by the teachers.
Track student progress and create reports for the student support team’s review.
Understand what the child is accomplishing academically, socially and emotionally.
Act as a nurturing and encouraging influence.
Monitor the student and minimize distractions and disruption.
Respond to behavior crises which includes engaging in verbal de-escalation and physical restraint/seclusion in emergency situations;
Services with student/school specific assignments.
Qualification required – Paraprofessional/Teacher’s Aide:
Associate or Bachelor Degree/ high school diploma with college credits
Experience working as a teacher’s aide, teacher, or paraprofessional
Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and emotional maturity.
