Role Summary

  • Assist and coordinate the functions of the test fleet vehicles, more-zone test vehicles, staff development hiring of external employees, paperwork, payroll, etc.
  • Coordinating work schedules on a daily basis.
  • Special testing requirements for Prototypes on public road driving.
  • Coordination with the locations regarding the Paid Driver needs and make certain that the requirements across all stations are aligned.

Role Responsibilities

Main responsibility (95% of time)

  • Daily operations needed for both Prototype, Development and Production vehicles under a wide range of requirements and diversity including rapid mileage accumulation and detailed analysis.
  • Training – Driver training as well as customer training on vehicle systems and reporting structures. Including: drive details, specific testing needs per procedures and documents.
  • Coordinates paid driver testing with management and workshop to ensure correct staffing.
  • Ensures proper documentation and proofing end of shift reports.
  • Instills a safety first attitude
  • Ensures product security
  • Coordinates external employee, test and travel expenses.
  • Assists with some contract worker HR/payroll items
  • Maintains a team-oriented and productive atmosphere.
  • Assist with a technical documentation and follow-ups as requested by I/EG-Qxx engineers regarding further analysis and reporting.
  • Reviewing and maintaining documentation – driver reports, work orders, data recorders, KPM, etc.
  • Reporting and feedback including weekly downloads , software support of technicians updates to responsible groups / persons all with the technicians
  • Installation and function of test measuring equipment; I.E. Data Loggers, Test Parts, Testing, analysis, etc.
  • Maintain and update all test routes as needed for, More-Zone Vehicles, Special Testing and Driver Assistance specific needs
  • Supports visiting Test Groups
  • Prepares workspaces and badges
  • Greets test groups when they arrive and introduces them to the facility
  • Helps test group with facility assets: Vehicle hoists, Trailers, Ballast, Fuels, etc.
  • Assists in the shipping of the test group’s vehicles, parts, fuel, etc. both domestic and international
  • Conducts exit interviews with test groups
  • Performs maintenance and services(as needed/ back-up)
  • Makes sure all data cards get changed after shifts and uploaded
  • Completes weekly inspection of cars to document damage or issues
  • Assists with vehicle shipments in and out of facility
  • Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintains all Safety documents including Emergency Plan
  • Keeps facility in compliance with VWGoA’s Environmental and Safety standards
  • Ensures that entire staff is up-to-date on safety training
  • Completes monthly safety inspections for facility.
  • Runs quarterly Safety meetings.
  • Supporting of Test Fleet Activities (Audi) as needed determined by the Operations Manager, David Moreland

Additional Responsibilities (5% of time)

  • Facility Maintence needs, IT & Security, Environmental


Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience

Education

  • Technical training in vehicle testing or engineering field of Automotive
  • 5 years’ experience in Engineering level vehicle testing
  • Engineering experience in Manufacturing / Vehicle testing environment (desired)

  • Hazmat shipping and receiving certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Forklift certification and operation
  • Efffk Certification or equivalent

Work Flexibility

  • Ability to work on and maneuver around a vehicles, including tire changes, lifting of up to 75lbs.
  • 8% Potential travel required for this role
  • Work schedule is typically 40 hours per week. However, travel requirements and special testing will result in extended hours needed on a weekly basis at times.
