- Gather and analyze financial information, including financial statements, cash flow projections, credit reports, and other relevant data, to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers.
- Evaluate credit risk factors, such as debt service coverage, leverage ratios, liquidity, and profitability, to determine the borrower's ability to repay debt obligations.
- Conduct industry research and assess market conditions to identify risks and opportunities associated with specific borrowers or industries.
- Prepare credit reports summarizing the credit analysis, risk assessment, and recommendation for approval or denial of credit facilities.
- Present credit recommendations to underwriters, credit committees, or senior management, providing rationale and supporting evidence for credit decisions.
- Monitor existing credit exposures, review financial performance, and assess changes in credit risk profiles to ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, loan officers, and other stakeholders to gather additional information and address credit-related inquiries.
- Stay informed about regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and market trends related to credit analysis and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Master's degree or CFA designation preferred.
- Previous experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, lending, or financial services roles preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements, analyze cash flow projections, and assess credit risk factors.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, ratio analysis, and credit scoring techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
