What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Coordinator position at Augmentation Inc?
Provide administrative support to the Shipping staff functions. Primary responsibilities: data entry (customer order processing) and internal customer service role as interface to following departments: Production Planning, Production, Materials, Customer Service, Sales, etc.
Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Essential Job functions

- Assist Supervisor in role of analyzing daily order status reports for revisions or inventory conflicts. Reconcile these issues and communicate plans to other parties as necessary. Scheduling and job planning skills are critical.
- Work closely with Warehouse Supervisor to assure they are aware of workload so adequate manpower can be scheduled.
- Assume primary role of data processing of customer orders and transfer orders via Syteline system. Expediency and accuracy with this function is critical. Ability to react to order changes in a fast paced, custom manufacturing environment.
- Provide internal customer service role and act as Shipping staff interface to following departments: Customer Service, Production Planning, Production and Assembly, Materials and Inventory Control, etc.
- Maintain Shipping scheduling calendar using the Youcanbookme program. Verify all loads are covered by Logistical company, Customer arrange or LTL carriers.
- Assist with small parcel shipment processing.
- Assist with both export and import documentation.
- Ability to enter orders/material transfers for tools and equipment between plants.
- Ability to maintain a Forklift certification and operate equipment when additional help is needed.
- Ability to manage individual customer accounts and interface as required with Customer Service and IT departments.
- Cross train in all other shipping department functions to increase flexibility and provide additional support of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate with 3 – 5 years’ experience in warehouse management to support production process. Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: Forklift certification
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the high school level. The ability to communicate with members of all other departments. Ability to understand and give instructions either verbal or written.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate the average of numbers.
- REASONING ABILITY: Negotiation of freight rates.
- OTHER: Knowledge of plastics is preferred.
- COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of Microsoft Office
