What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technologist PRN position at Augusta Health Brand?
- Performs clinical testing in at least two of the following departments: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. Staff who work second or third shifts must be competent in all areas mentioned above.
- Receives specimens, performs clinical testing, understands method principles, performs quality controls and instrument maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
Requirements
- Nationally recognized clinical laboratory science certification, credentials or equivalent.
- Microbiology experience preferred.
- Accurate performance and collection of tests while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to work under stress and contribute to the team environment.
