What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMOM Technician Series I, II, III position at Augusta-Richmond County?
Supports the Collection Coordinator in the implementation of the CMOM program, as it relates to carrying out both reactionary and preventive measures in maintaining the collection system, within departmental policies and procedures and EPD guidelines. Reports to the Collection Coordinator, or other designated person, and works with co-workers, the public, utility locating services, and management, to provide operational support. PERFORMS 24/7 ROTATING ON-CALL DUTIES
Experience: Hiring grade is based on experience and certifications as outlined below. All applicants will be considered for grade 10. A higher entry level salary grade could be warranted depending on years of experience working on Wastewater Collection System and /or license/certifications consisting of CDL and Georgia Wastewater Collection System Operator certification.
CMOM TECHNICIAN I (GRADE 10)
Experience: No experience required, incumbent will be trained to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Certification: None required
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE:
Experience: One (1) year in plumbing and/or contracting services associated with water and sewer installation.
Certification: Wastewater Collection Certification OR Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required

Certification: Must possess both a Wastewater Collection Certification AND a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Other:
- Assists the Collection Coordinator in carrying out both reactionary and preventative maintenance measures for the collection system and carrying out CMOM tasks. These measures are typically performed through the use of a single piece of equipment in which the operator is adept (rodder truck, vactor truck, etc.)
- Utilizes GIS mapping system to locate and maintain utility assets.
- Supports upper management with DPD reporting requirements of the collection system.
- Inputs and retrieves data from work order system.
- Performs routine maintenance on all assigned equipment and keep legible documentation.
- Coordinates closely with Asset Manager and supports him/her in evaluating and enhancing the collection system.

- Becomes familiar with EPD regulations in order to accurately report sewer spills.
- Properly trains subordinate personnel in CMOM activities and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Supports the Collection Coordinator, Asset Manager, and CMMS with the task of maintaining accurate records on the collection system.
- Reads and interprets GIS maps and knows how to accurately report a sanitary sewer overflow.
Experience: Two (2) years in plumbing and/or contracting services associated with water and sewer installation.
Certification: Must possess both a Wastewater Collection Certification AND a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Makes field change note in order to update GIS system.
- Keeps accurate records and fills out sanitary sewer overflow reports.
- Trains and evaluates subordinate employee.
- Be able to explain policy and procedure to customers as it relates to spills and back-ups.
- CCTV operations will also be required as well as SLRat operations.
- Operation of vehicles and/or equipment that require a CDL.
- Familiar with operations of the collection system.
- Familiarity with Augusta-Richmond County and departmental policies and procedures.
- Proficient in carrying out preventive maintenance tasks and has shown such over a six month timeframe according to standards set by AUD with regard to CMOM preventive maintenance activities.
