Job Summary


The Program Coordinator is responsible for being the first point of contact with the public, and who assists the Business Consultant and Area Director of an Area Office with client program development, program delivery, client management, and administration. The position requires the ability to provide administrative support for the office while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the marketing of local SBDC programs and delivers introductory presentations to prospective clients and inquiries. This person also conducts introductory meetings and provides basic introductory business information via telepone, fax, e-mail, social media channels, and in person.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet the public with a professional image and route messages to consultants as appropriate
  • Meet with new clients and provide basic introductory information
  • Research information requests as needed, and follow-up with inquirer
  • Schedule consulting appointments for staff as requested
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base of small business resources on the local, regional, and national levels
  • Make basic introductory business presentations and provide information to potential SBDC clientele.
  • Schedule and maintain a master calendar of CE classes, programs, and other events in cooperation with the consulting staff
  • Prepare promotional materials as appropriate
  • Make presentations, recruit, and provide information to potential SBDC class participants
  • Register and document participants for classes
  • Recruit, coordinate, and correspond with outside program speakers via multiple channels
  • Maintain records of and recruit speakers
  • Assist Business Consultants with research; perform demographic studies; analyze market and industry trends/statistics; internet research as needed
  • Input data accurately and timely into the SBDC's Client Information System (CIS) and Continuing Education Database (Cetrac).
  • Maintain area records and files in accordance with SBA requirements.
  • Perform support duties required for the operation of the Area office using standard SBDC equipment and software in the preparation of:
    • Correspondence
    • Presentation materials
    • Purchase and check requests
    • Invoices
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
  • Requires four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Banner software.
  • Knowledge of office equipment and computers.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to function as a team player.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
