Augustine Consulting, Inc., a professional services firm providing select services to national defense agencies, seeks an experienced Special Operations Forces (SOF) Trainer to serve as a part of the Company’s Technical Services team.
As a Special Operations Forces (SOF) Trainer, you will provide tailored training to meet the unique requirements and fast-paced operations within ARSOF, MARSOF, AFSOF, or NAVSOF schools or centers. You will assist with the development of Programs of Instruction (POI), Training Support Packages (TSP), scenario development, schedule, and constraints in support of a SOF service component school or center. You will prepare, rehearse, and deliver high-quality, realistic, relevant training. You will coordinate, validate, and recommend requirements for Training Aid Design & Fabrication (TAD&F) to support realistic training and replicate current and emerging threats. You will administer and/or instruct course curriculum; participate in working groups, hot-washes, and After-Action Reviews (AARs); and collect and document lessons learned and best practices.
In support of this mission, ACI’s Special Operations Forces Trainers will perform the following duties while assigned to a training team supporting a SOF service component school or center:
- Provide individual skills or collective Special Operations Forces (SOF) training tailored to the individual or organization based on approved training curricula.
- Receive the supported school’s training requirements, constraints, schedule, and other required training information.
- Research USSOCOM J7, TSOC, and SOF service component Lessons Learned sources to obtain timely and relevant knowledge of SOF training priorities, trends, technology, and techniques for application to training scenario development and delivery.
- Assist with the development of Programs of Instruction (POIs) and training plan/schedules.
- Coordinate with other trainers and training team leads to ensure timely delivery of training aids, ammunition and availability of ranges and other logistical and administrative requirements to optimize training events.
- Administer pre- and post-tests as appropriate for the course of instruction.
- Participate in hot-wash sessions, facilitate After Action Reviews (AARs); provide results of AARs to the supported school, AAR Analysts, and training team lead.
- Prepare and submit post-trip reports; submit observations regarding readiness and materiel gaps.
- Participate in partner nation/multinational force training support as directed.
- Supervise junior trainers when required.
Required at the Senior level:
- Current Secret Clearance.
- Master’s degree and minimum of 10 years of experience in Special Operations.
- Or, Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 18 years of experience in Special Operations.
- Minimum of 15 years of military/DOD experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and delivering training.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing current and future threats to provide SOF operators or support personnel with relevant training.
- Demonstrated operational or institutional domain training experience.
- Demonstrated familiarity with a service’s training management program and large-scale, enterprise-wide training programs.
- Demonstrated experience applying lessons learned and best practices to training.
- Experience with readiness resource requirements, Culminating Training Events, and home-station training events.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated, recent (within the last five years) experience with or knowledge of the SOF training environment.
- Experience with Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS).
- Instructional Systems Design Certification (CISD, CTT, CTTS, or CTM).
- Assignment or experience with USAJFKSWCS or equivalent SOF service component school or center.
- Experience assessing training and preparing units for deployment into conflict zones.
- Understanding of the emerging and non-traditional concepts that are shaping the character of contemporary joint and multinational warfare.
