Aurora is looking for an experienced Jira and Confluence administrator to join our Digital Workplace Team. In addition to supporting issues and incidents, you will work on long term projects to enhance and maintain our Jira and Confluence environments. Additionally, you will consult with business users to increase their efficiency and provide better customer service for internal customers. This role is an excellent fit for a well-organized and self-motivated individual, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will
- Support tasks such as maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, evaluating new plug-ins and JIRA upgrades.
- Configure and maintain multiple JIRA projects, project workflows, schemes, project and portfolio settings, user groups, roles, and reports.
- Support task/work items migration to and from existing tools to JIRA.
- Work with key project team members including client leadership to define and refine business processes.
- Mentor staff and Train end-users.
- Conduct and lead project communications and status meeting schedules.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer leadership.
- Provide general administration of current and future JIRA instances. Including basic tasks related to the refinement of the current JIRA instance to improve its usability, as well as performing similar duties for the new JIRA instance to be utilized by a growing user population.
- Provide JIRA subject matter expertise in discussions regarding governance within JIRA, especially as new implications arise in the environment with internal/external users accessing the current and new instance.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm to help others
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience customizing Jira projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes
- Experience driving cleanup and refinement initiatives to enhance JIRA's functionality and usability.
- Experience working in Agile environment and solid understanding of Agile principles and project management methodologies
- Ability to write custom JQL (Jira Query Language)
- Ability to write scripts to automate and customize Jira
- Ability to construct custom dashboards using various filter types in Jira
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely.
- Experience with Status page and Op’s Genie
- Proven experience in a heavy customer focus position involving technical knowledge and system troubleshooting
Desirable Qualifications
- Expertise with modern Cloud IAAS / PAAS providers including AWS
- Familiarity with Unix and WIndows Shell terminal
- Scripting / programming in BASH / Python or other
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience
