Cost Accountant

Ausley Construction has an opening for a Senior Level Cost Accountant that will be responsible for all the company’s job cost accounting matters for numerous construction contracting projects. The position will be based out of our Ocala, Florida location. The position requires both technical and analytical activities requiring complex judgments, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. Equally important is the ability to interact well with team members within the organization as well as external contacts.

Ideally, in addition to the above, the successful candidate will have a B.S. in Accounting with at least five years of construction accounting background experience. The candidate’s construction accounting experience must include significant experience in job costing matters including allocation of contract costs, subcontractor billing, and overhead allocations. Experience on Spectrum software is preferred but not required.

Depending upon a candidate’s background, the targeted salary for the position is $60,000. Please include your salary expectations in order to be considered.

Major duties and functions include:

• Review and prepare subcontractor billings for individual projects
• Perform cost accounting functions including month-end, quarterly and year-end close, job cost reconciliation and standard report generation
• Forecasting and estimating contract profitability
• Prepare account analyses and assist in preparing financial reports including monthly operating reports, quarterly and year end reporting packages
• Must be able to perform direct labor, material usage and purchase price variance analysis
• Prepare cash flow forecasts
• Prepare monthly reviews of construction contract profitability, variance analysis, forecasting and annual budgets
• Complete analytical cost projects as assigned
