We are hiring a full-time BLAST CREW LABORER to load, unload and move product around the job site, complete equipment maintenance, and provide other general labor assistance. You will learn the aspects of safely working around explosives. This is an opportunity to expand your skills, knowledge and develop a career plan. ABOUT THE JOB
As a BLAST CREW LABORER:
- This position involves being outside in all weather conditions, loading and unloading and lifting 50 pounds of product and other materials, and frequently squatting and bending.
- You will work collaboratively as a team member and perform manual labor for the duration of the shift.
- You will assist the site supervisors with the materials and equipment needs and help to collect supplies as requested. To do this, you will use material handling equipment including shovels, hand tools, power tools and work around heavy construction equipment.
- You will maintain a clean, safe working environment and report any employee, customer or safety concerns to the Blaster in Charge or Location Manager.
ALL YOU NEED FOR THE BLAST CREW LABORER IS
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to load and unload and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Strong team-working skills
- Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in order to count inventory, verify how many detonators and boosters have been utilized (pre- and post-shot), and calculating how many boxes of detonators and boosters are needed to load the shot.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as SDS, product information, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Also, must be able to learn to identify products by classification through visible inspection.
- Ability to work nontraditional hours generally starting very early.
- Must meet requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
- Access to reliable transportation
