Job Summary:
The Program Associate, under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), is responsible for direct implementation and data collection of participants in a peer program serving adolescent-aged children with autism. The Program Associate will provide skills instruction and program monitoring consistent with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
Job Duties (not limited to):
- Provide care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing natural environment training arrangements
- Implement skill acquisition protocols
- Collect, record, and summarize data
- Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers regarding participant’s progress
- Use safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with participants
- Maintain participant confidentiality
- Maintain an understanding of autism spectrum disorder and its impact on individuals and families
- Must be willing to regularly work evenings and weekends
Skills and/or Qualifications (not limited to):
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with participants, co-workers, and community members
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to programmatic skills, professional development, ethics, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard
- Ability to interpret and implement programmatic protocols as written for individuals of varying ages and abilities
- Ability to think creatively and quickly tailor activities and communication styles to diverse learners
- Enthusiastic work approach to create an enjoyable and meaningful experience for participants
- Valid NE Driver’s License
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (i.e., kneeling, squatting) for extended periods of time
- Must be able to sit on the floor and stand for extended periods of time
Education and/or Experience:
- Preferred: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
- Preferred: a minimum of 12-months of applied behavior analysis (ABA) experience working with individuals with autism
- Preferred: enrollment in college coursework in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, communication disorders, or related field
- Required: High school diploma
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
