MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must meet job posting eligibility requirements per company policy.
- Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
- Michigan forklift truck operator permit required.
- Help in department operation wherever necessary.
- Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
- Ability to communicate well with others.
- Punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Previous material handler experience preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents
MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inventories materials on work floor.
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Positions forks, lifting platform transports load to designated area.
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels or production schedules.
- Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device.
- Loads and unloads customer freight and empty containers.
- Responsible for tagging incoming/outgoing freight.
- Prepares orders/ Stages orders for delivery.
- Scans orders into system.
- Unloads and loads Outside Processing (OSP) freight.
- Organizes materials in department as necessary.
- Recharges batteries, fills fuel tank or replaces liquefied gas tank.
- Completes safety and operational checks daily.
- Follows and performs FIFO procedures
- Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
- Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
- Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
