POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the shipping and receiving activities to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the enterprise’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
- Responsible for notifying team leader or department colleagues when trucks arrive to be loaded or unloaded on a timely basis.
- Assist team leader in giving warehouse and dock direction to the hourly colleagues in the shipping and receiving department to ensure window times are met.
- Responsible for preparing barcode labels and shippers and sends ASN/Ship notices to customers upon shipment and keep verification of same.
- Serves as 3PL, supplier and customer liaison for dock times; route issues.
- Interact with Production Control/Scheduling colleagues.
- Assist with all packaging and containerization needs on the shift.
- Ability to communicate critical issues to leadership; parts needed, late routes, dock issues and etc.
- Supply daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.
- Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities (ex. 8D report’s, department meetings, etc.).
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Maintain high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS
Reports directly to the department team leader. Interfaces on a frequent basis with all Materials staff, Operations, IT and Quality Assurance. Also interfaces on an as needed basis with HR, Accounting, Engineering and Maintenance.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One to three years experience in materials.
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Leadership capabilities
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Duties include but are not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk, and hear. May be required to travel. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration and hazardous materials.
