Responsibilities :
- Work collaboratively with lead attorneys and support staff
- Interview clients; locate and interview expert witnesses
- Draft legal documents including but not limited to : discovery, motions, summary judgment motions, appellate briefs, affidavits, memoranda, and letters
- Investigate factual information to respond to litigation discovery requests or other information inquiries
- Assist in all phases of case preparation, including discovery and trial
- Prepare for trial, including, but not limited to : providing trial support and attendance
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues (e.g. attorney-client privileged materials)
- Travel throughout the state as required to meet business needs
Skills & Competencies :
- Demonstrate exceptional legal research and writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff and team members
- Strong communication, persuasion and negotiation skills to represent client and company interests in litigation situations
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Current Florida Bar License and in Good Standing
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- 3 years of experience in First Party Property damage insurance claims
