The Memphis Redbirds, Triple A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, and Memphis 901 FC, members of USL Championship, are searching for college students and recent graduates looking to gain experience in the sports industry. 

The Seasonal Front Office Intern position is general in nature and will work through multiple departments within the Memphis Redbirds and Memphis 901 FC Front Offices located at AutoZone Park in Downtown Memphis, TN. Selected candidates will be given the opportunity to maximize the scope of their development and experience for future career opportunities by working a mixture of office hours and games including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Must be 18 or older to apply. Job duties and hours worked are subject to change based on applicable COVID-19 restrictions throughout the season. Priority will be given to interns who are available for the duration of the 2021 MiLB and USL seasons, however applicants who are only available for a portion of the season are still encouraged to apply. Class schedules and general availability will be discussed during the interview process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Marketing - Lead pre-game, in-game, and post-game fan activities; promote our brands by attending various community events including performing as the mascot if necessary; plan and promote theme nights; design creative for website, social media, and other integrated marketing initiatives; analyze data to optimize marketing reach
  • Sales - Make outbound sales calls/emails to promote ticket packages; assist customers with ticket purchasing process or other ticket issues via phone, email and in-person interactions; operate will-call tent, pass out specialty ticket items, or work sales table during games; perform sponsorship activation and proof of performance reports; host events for Season Ticket Members
  • Retail – Process online orders; operate register, upsell, and assist customers in store; restock and face merchandise; process new inventory; control inventory management between store and warehouse locations; plan promotions to maximize sales
  • Operations - Assist with team travel, locker room and equipment needs, scheduling and supervision of gameday staff, and planning and execution of non-gameday events; field and stadium setup/breakdown for games; building and field maintenance
  • Game Production* – Assist with recording stats, operating cameras and videoboard; camera setup/breakdown; generate ideas for in-game content (previous experience in these areas preferred)
  • Report to stadium for all assigned tarp pulls
  • Represent the organizations in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned to successfully host first-class events for the organizations

Qualifications:
  • Current college student or recent graduate seeking class credit or entry level position
  • Availability to work a combination of office hours as well as nights, weekends, and holidays as team schedules require
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public and other employees
  • Willingness to learn with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull with hands/arms
  • Ability to walk/run during tarp pulls
