POSITION OVERVIEW:
Works with RN, LPN to directly care for patients in the Hospital from admission to discharge. Under the direct supervision of the registered/licensed nurse, organizes and implements certain aspects of the care plan, such as checking vital signs, answering lights, providing bath and hygiene care, meal assistance and assistance with ambulation and transfers. The C.N.A./Ward Clerk is responsible for unit phone management, transcription of physician’s orders, and coordinating the flow of paper information into the chart. The C.N.A./Ward Clerk is responsible for stocking the unit with office supplies, making copies of chart needs such as physician order sheets, nurses’ notes, fall protocol, MARs, and admission nurse notes. The C.N.A./Ward Clerk will assist in the organizing and maintaining the safety of the unit. Receives direction from Nurses, Providers, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, DON.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
MT CNA Certification required.
Basic Life Support required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Medical terminology, keyboarding skills, basic office skills, basic patient care.
