Summary:
AutoZone’s SRE team is looking for an IT manager specializing Site Reliability Engineering. The team’s mission is to partner with application teams to define, measure, and improve reliability and stability with our systems. We are looking for a new team member with experience with SRE and DevOps. Our environment is primarily distributed systems across 6000 stores, on-premise ‘above store’ applications, and a growing number of use cases in the public cloud.
Responsibilities:
Participate in any and potentially all roles of the systems development life cycle. Roles may vary by project and assignment. This may include, but not limited to:
· Lead team to collaborate with internal customers such as developers, InfoSec, Enterprise Architecture, and Network teams
· Architectural design and influence
· Lead team to build, maintain, and manage automation and self-service tools and processes.
· Lead team to develop and follow SRE best practices.
· Accurate work planning and execution.
· Mentor and grow team members and other more junior AutoZoners.
· Collaborate with other IT leaders across the organization.
· Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategic plans and roadmaps.
· Expected to contribute at a technical level as well as managerial, should have a deep understanding of technology.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
· Typically requires seven to ten years’ experience based on consistently demonstrated capabilities.
· Demonstrated experience in IT leadership
· Excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to build strong relationships and trust throughout the organization, including with senior leadership
· Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, and project management
· Experience working hands on in a linux environment
· Experience in at least one programming language
· Experience with DevOps or platform tools such as kubernetes, ansible, terraform, CI/CD components, and/or cloud technologies is preferred
· Must have experience working on a collaborative team using version control, preferably git
· Good problem solving, technical, and analytical skills
