SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandise Inventory, is part of the Merchandise Accounting organization. This position plays an active role in the preparation and/or review of companywide processes related to the valuation and accuracy of inventory, including risk assessments and process improvements. Key responsibilities include:
Reconcile, update and assess adequacy of the Overage Reserve. Proactively research and resolve any variances that are identified by working cross functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain, and AP.
Partner with Sr. Financial Analyst (DCs) and Distribution Centers in identifying and verifying material manual adjustments.
Prepare period journal entries for Core Breakage expenses and reconcile associated balance sheet accounts. Partner with the Merchandising organization to ensure core reconciliations are accurate and work through questions with category teams and vendor partners.
Collaborate with the Merchandising organization on any core swaps and accurately reflect the changes in vendor core breakage reconciliations.
Identify and resolve any Vendor Chargeback issues. Review periodic postings prepared by Staff Accountant and support the Merchandising organization with any vendor issues and questions
Review period, quarterly, and annual contractual billings prepared by Staff Accountant
Accommodate internal and external audit requests.
Other key responsibilities as identified
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 3-5 years related experience
MBA and CPA preferred
Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced excel as well as experience with SQL
Strong procedure development and implementation skills, and demonstrated process improvement ability
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve processes and performance
