We are looking for energetic, driven, service-oriented individual to fill our Financial Services Officer position at our Homewood branch. The Financial Services Officer will serve as a liaison between the members and the Credit Union. They will provide account information to members, and promote and cross-sell Credit Union products and services. They will open accounts, resolve, issues, and professionally handle the members within the Credit Union.

Functions and Responsibilities:

• Supports branch member retention and relationship expansion through regular contact with existing and potential members. Utilize member contacts to develop sales leads and cross-sell additional products and services
• Possess a knowledge and understanding of Avadian's products and services to best meet member's needs.
• Explain consumer loan programs to members, profile members' needs, and recommend loan options.
• Request, evaluate, and interpret credit information from Credit Bureau reports to insure compliance with Avadian guidelines and federal regulations.
• Explain reasons for denials and explore options for members when accounts are denied.
• Act as a teller when needed.
• Interview consumer loan applicants, complete consumer loan applications, and make recommendations to Centralized Lending Loan Officers.
• Must possess a good understanding of the consumer loan process, guidelines, and underwriting process.
• Must possess a good understanding of IRA's.
• Balance the branch vault and ITC as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• Must be able to work on Saturdays from 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM.
• Must have excellent written and verbal skills, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor, decisiveness, and professionalism.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of all financial products and services including consumer loans and procedures related to new account sales.
• Must be able to work at a very fast pace.

Experience: At least twelve months of similar or related experience in a retail sales setting or in a financial institution.

Education: A high school diploma or GED.
