Primary Job Role: The Senior Product Analyst - Deposits is responsible for the pricing management of the deposit portfolio, as well as financial analysis, and reporting for deposits and other liquidity products. This includes developing portfolio pricing strategy, managing portfolio rate changes, and producing insightful management reporting to help inform decision making. The Senior Product Analyst - Deposits is on the forefront of Federal Reserve rate changes and steering the Credit Union’s deposit portfolio strategy through various economic cycles.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting related to Avadian’s deposit portfolio and communicate financial results to all stakeholders. Provide bi-monthly analyses of deposits balances and rates compared to budget/goal.
- Responsible for weekly rate recommendations to management. Review deposit rates on the major competitors in our market, and work with Deposit Operations on competitive rate sheets. Review CDs weekly, MMA monthly, and savings accounts quarterly.
- Update deposit budget categories and report on performance each month.
- Periodically review the CD penalties to help measure the impact of what is leaving versus what might be repriced.
- Report on the performance of deposit specials. Show results in graphs and charts.
- Provide the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer with analysis on deposit products from potential acquisitions.
- Work with the Director of Finance on creating the annual and revised deposit budget.
- Analyze product and servicing pricing, fee income initiatives, and velocity.
- Responsible for following all BSA/OFAC policies and procedures.
- Prompt and regular attendance is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Expert use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point software.
- Jack Henry Symitar/PowerBI/SQL/MS Access experience or the willingness to learn a plus.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
Experience: Ten to fifteen years of similar or related experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Marketing is preferred or equivalent demonstrated work experience in Corporate Finance, Marketing or Product Development within a credit union or bank.
