Under direction of the VP of Software Engineering , the Senior UX/UI designer is an integral part of the Avantguard software development team. The designer is responsible for driving creative output across a range of innovative projects – with a strong pedigree in visual design and demonstrated expertise in digital experiences. The UX designer will help drive hands-on projects at every stage of the life cycle, from brainstorming creative concepts with the project team to participating in client presentations and ensuring deadlines are met, all the way to launch. Responsible for exemplifying excellent customer service and the company core values, culture, policy and procedures at all times.

Skills Needed: 

• 5 years of experience as a UX/UI design/development, building and shipping applications that encompass an end-to-end experience across a variety of platforms  
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with leading Design Thinking framework and leading team in Design Thinking workshops
• Experience architecting complete UX/UI design frameworks; navigation, UI components and/or UX/UI design guidelines 
• Experience in delivering wireframes, UX flows, mockups, interactive prototypes, design specifications, final assets, personas, and use-case development 
• Ability and passion for understanding distinct user groups and iterating solutions to meet their needs 
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Vue) required
• Experience working in an agile environment that is human-centered (Scrum Design Thinking) 
• Ability to drive technical architecture discussions and help inform decisions. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers and non-technical cohorts
• Results-oriented, creative-problem solver 
• Experience with aspects of an intuitive workflow 
• Experience designing for mobile and web platforms 

What You'll Do: 

• Lead, initiate and direct UX-centered projects, activities and deliverables across deliverables 
• Lead collaborative design sessions; quickly synthesizing outputs to craft ideas and solutions 
• Lead and empower UX, UI, content and creative teams to define, align, deliver and support experience-related deliverables including user research, audits, sitemaps, flow diagrams and interactive prototypes for review and approvals 
• Collaborate and deliver compelling people-first design solutions and design presentations move clients forward; while embracing technology constraints, feedback, business readiness and other design considerations 
• Develop highly scalable software solution designs 
• Determine operational feasibility of business requirements 
• Develop software interaction design, usability testing, prototyping, and visual design 
• Document and maintain software functionality 
• Gather and evaluate user feedback 
• Comply with project plans and industry standards 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers and non-technical cohorts 
• Demonstrate understanding of how business requirements impact technical requirements
