What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chaplaincy Coordinator position at Avera?
Position Summary:
To serve the spiritual, emotional, and religious needs of patients, family members and staff. Follows hospital policies and regulatory procedures. Assists in providing department programs and training opportunities for hospital staff and patients. The position may include direct managerial responsibilities as necessary to develop the Chaplaincy program.
Work Schedule:
Part-time. Typically, Monday-Friday 1 pm-5 pm but must be flexible to meet patient/family, staff and hospital needs. Occasional weekend, holiday and call time involvement.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required
- Proof of ordination, licensure, or letter of support/endorsement from a local church/denomination/religious order required
- Three years of experience as a Chaplain required
Licensure/Certification:
Board certified by a nationally accredited body, such as APC, NACC, or NACJ preferred
