Job Summary
Has primary responsibility for dialysis nursing services, providing oversight and direction to all direct care staff that provide dialysis and nursing care in the facility, including input into hiring, evaluating, and terminating staff. Has responsibility for providing leadership for dialysis programming. Participates in planning, organizing, and facilitating program functions in conjunction with the Director, Transplant Quality Manager, and physician leadership. Responsible for oversight of program workflow to meet patient outcomes and regulatory requirements, ensuring continuity and coordination of care, and communication with referring primary and consulting physicians, patient and patients’ family, and hospitals and clinics as needed. Assures proper use of fiscal resources. Assists with an interdisciplinary approach to achieve excellence and continuity of care
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
- 12 months of experience in clinical nursing, and an additional 6 months of experience in providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysis required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Prior healthcare management experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required.
- Nephrology Certification preferred.
