Job Highlights:
- Full Time position working 7:00am-5:00pm; includes working every 4th Saturday.
- Providing medical care to all patients under the supervision of the supervising physician by assessing physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients; applying knowledge and understanding of human behavior in health and illness.
Job Summary:
- Works in partnership with the Hospitalist (supervising physician), for the care of Acute and Swing Bed patients.
- May function as an APP (Advanced Practice Provider) in other areas of the Avera St. Benedict system.
- Assists in the assessment and care of Hospital, LTC/Rehab residents, and Clinic patients in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Orders therapy or referrals, based on diagnosis. Prescribes medication and treatment for illnesses across the life-span of patient.
- Expected to participate in marketing and publicity efforts as coordinated by Clinic Director, Clinic Manager, and marketing department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of PA/C.N.P program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (AAHEP).
- License in South Dakota as Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Registration by the South Dakota State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners or South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Federal and State of South Dakota DEA.
- Required within 6 months from hire to be certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS
