Job Summary
- The NASW Standards of Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings are exemplified within this Job Description.
- The social worker provides medical social casework to a wide array of patients, ranging from the newborn to the advanced geriatric patient.
- The main focus of the social worker is to assist in meeting the psychosocial/continuum of care needs of the patient and family to ensure optimum functioning.
- In addition to direct care services, the social worker will have duties of consultation, education, policy and program planning, continuous quality improvement, advocacy, and liaison with the community.
- The MSW is expected to have a larger percentage of macro/indirect functions than the BSW social worker.
- The MSW is also expected to manage referrals that are significantly high-risk and/or problem prone.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduation from an accredited University with a Master’s Degree in social work.
- Independent Private Practitioner is desired.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Graduated from an accredited University with a Master’s Degree in social work.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday as needed; PRN
- 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $26.25 - $39.00 per hour
