Job Description
The alignment and translation of regional requirements and needs into global procurement strategies for specified global categories, to support innovation and profitable growth for Avery Dennison Materials Group. The ability to identify the need for change management, and actively develop and execute solutions, strategies and plans, as well as the ability to develop and facilitate Joint Development Agreements (JDA’s).
Skills in delivering and communicating these strategies and plans effectively, confidently and comfortably to stakeholders at all levels with a sound awareness of how the presentation impacts on objectives .Advanced cross-cultural awareness, knowledge and skills, as well as ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects by effective use of influencing skills in order to support and lead others to a decision or action. A strong demonstrable record of the development of successful business cases and able to recommend and advise on appropriate approaches for business case development.
- Analyze, manage, develop and implement global sourcing and procurement strategies:
- Understand the category size, scope and regional demand patterns through well developed spend analytics methodologies
- Manage and develop global strategic supplier relationships, effectively leveraging Avery Dennison’s spend across divisions within the Corporation.
- Develop and drive execution of global strategies in close cooperation with Business, Commercial (Product Management), Operations, Supply Chain and Technical. Ensure to develop and meet appropriate objectives and effectively communicate status to the Avery Dennison organization.
- Work closely with the Technical, Business, Commercial, Supply Chain and Operation stakeholders to ensure their interests and participation are represented by the paper procurement team.
- Work closely with all regional procurement teams to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned between common suppliers and optimize global leverage and assets.
- Ensure “one voice” communication to the supply base regarding strategies and requirements and that volume and spend are leveraged across regions and businesses.
- Drive regional material cost out projects and continuously identify new raw material cost out savings opportunities.
- Improve procurement processes and apply latest thinking in the areas of strategic sourcing, cost modeling, supplier relationship development, and total cost of ownership.
- Perform in-depth industry analysis to uncover the key dynamics driving the behaviors of the suppliers and markets relating to the relevant product categories.
- Use the tools of cost modeling, financial analysis, price forecasting, and negotiation to bring maximum value to the business.
- Identify companies not currently supplying materials which could represent incremental value or an entree to a new technology.
- Ensure responsibilities and initiatives are executed and/or carried out to meet management and business expectations:
- Achieve and document level of annual savings in the category as defined by the business objectives and OGSM plans. Develop and provide appropriate procurement forecasts as defined by the AOP and other forecasting needs.
- Regular monitoring and reporting on appropriate key feedstock markets and impact they have on sourcing and procurement of materials components.
- Provide monthly reports compiling category procurement input across all regions.
- Working with technical and marketing, develop market intelligence and forecasts of key drivers for product production to help monitor and compare value / risk and to ensure most competitive technology is in use for business needs.
- Coordinate supplier meetings and ensure all appropriate stakeholders are included and minutes are distributed to all appropriate management and maintained on Drive.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Technical Masters degree desired
- Minimum 5 years experience, preferably in Procurement or Supply Chain
- Experience in strategic sourcing, negotiation and commercial agreements.
- Experience in commodities and economics
- Knowledge of negotiating and developing contracts.
- Demonstrated success in cross-regional projects or initiatives
- Proven vendor selection and negotiation skills with strong business acumen
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills Ability to create strategic presentations and present
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, training and project management experience and skills
- Expert customer service skills
- Knowledge of Google Drive and Google business tool apps with very good Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel skills required
- Occasional travel domestically and globally 10% to 15%
