What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Director position at Avesta Systems?
The Activities Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management for the Activities operation including developing and leading a successful comprehensive program to meet the needs of residents and will oversee departmental activities.
Job Responsibilities, may include the following:
- Designs and develops recreation and leisure programs to meeting the needs of residents in oversee the entire activities
- Prepares monthly quality of care/service reports
- Assess and documents resident’s abilities and needs and records participation
- Prepares monthly quality of care/service reports
- Complies a monthly social program calendar to post and distributes to staff and residents
- Assists with the development and provision of training and orientation programs for staff and volunteers
- Assures that all activities conform to federal, state, and local accreditation and licensing agencies or organizations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, include but are not limited to the following:
- Minimum of 3 years Supervisor and/or Director experience
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to participate in and conduct semi-active programs
- Enthusiasm to work with physically disabled and chronically ill individuals of all ages
- Ability to deal with residents, staff, and guests with tact and professionalism
- Able to identify unfavorable symptoms such as fatigue and irritability
- Willingness to work flexible hours
Education/Certification:
- Associates degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
