What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Billing Specialist position at Awakenings Counseling?
We need an insurance billing specialist to handle the credentialing, billing and insurance for a growing out-of-network private practice. Must be able to easily use Excel and Office Suite. We are looking a self-starter with a solid history of several years with one company. We are looking for an individual to join our team, and not interviewing with companies that provide this service.
Qualifications
- Must have experience with INSURANCE BILLING resolution and credentialing; experience with out of network billing a plus!
- Preferred associates degree in office management, billing and credentialing or 2 years of experience in a medical office.
- Must know BCBS's policies and have experience with them.
- Must know psychotherapy billing codes and ICD-10 codes
- Communicates with providers regarding verification of patient and insurance demographic information. Checks patient records and insures correct data weekly.
- Investigates and responds to errors generated from electronic claims submissions.
- Assists in researching eligibility submission problems/new client submissions.
- Interfaces with clinicians, external providers or clients, as may be required, to resolve errors.
- Initiates verbal and written correspondence to internal and external sources to verify patient and claim information.
- Coordinates activities with other team members in all locations with an ideal turn-around to update clinicians and clients within 24 hours as to progress.
- Remains knowledgeable and current on third party requirements, and regulatory guidelines at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Reports to work, meetings and professional obligations on time.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as directed.
- Serves as a member of the Front End Team. Performs duties necessary to ensure the team's projects/goals are completed.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned, such as filing, phone calls, etc.
Must be able to easily use Google drive, Excel and Office Suite.
Must agree to a background check, initial drug test and periodic drug testing.
