Summary

This position works to advance the ministry of Awana by providing analytical decision support, guidance and ownership of Awana’s ministry resources associated with the physical and digital product portfolio. This role is responsible for first-buy, replenishment, inventory management and manages the end-to-end supply planning process model. This role serves as a key member of the supply chain team and ensures material, inventory management and fulfillment processes meet high standards of operational excellence by balancing service and cost. This role also serves as the cross-functional liaison and “system and process” subject matter expert for purchasing and inventory management in Intacct and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally to generate work process efficiencies, streamline the end-to-end product and supply chain planning processes.
  • Assure that all purchasing and inventory planning activities are a drive to balance service, cost, and cash to drive ministry sustainability.
  • Analyze, purchase, and monitor materials in accordance in accordance with MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
  • Manage product attributes across cross-functional activities and in systems (currently Salesforce and Intacct).
  • Maintain the vendor compliance process to assure excellence and consistency in vendor performance.
  • Maintain the product quality compliance process to assure excellence and consistency in vendor performance.
  • Create and maintain a vendor sourcing database to optimize and reduce sourcing time.
  • Create and maintain a robust process to track product quality to ensure all consumer products meet quality and safety standards. Analyze and report on the loss of quality issues for vendor credit.
  • Ensure all products are “track and trace” back to their origin and are CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) compliant when required.
  • Maintain the CPSC compliant and Prop 65 non-compliant products database and generate reports as needed.
  • Create generate and present reports as requested on metrics, measures, and performance insights related to purchasing and inventory management activities.
  • Operate within the open-to-buy constraints as calculated in yearly fiscal planning based on the revenue budget.
  • Establish planning parameters to include minimums, multiples, end-of-quarter (EOQ), reorder point and work to reduce order cycle time across the replenishment cycle.
  • Assist as needed on root cause and corrective actions on service issues.
  • Support, uphold and demonstrate the Awana cultural values in internal and external communications and relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with a business concentration in Accounting, Finance, Operations or similar from an accredited college or university desired.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and project management methodologies to lead projects and meetings that coordinate cross-functional employees. (Plan, Do, Check, Act Cycle) preferred.
  • APICS or CSCP Certification a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong working knowledge of at least 5 of the following: purchasing negotiation, inventory turns, fill rate, on-time/in-full, open-to-buy compliance, gross-contribution margin, order cycle time, inventory carrying cost, total logistics costs.

Must be a born-again Christian. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Must be in agreement with the Awana Doctrinal Statement. Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through a local church. Regularly engages in reading the Holy Bible as a guide and standard for living.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and sit, possibly for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision. Frequent use of hands to utilize technology to design and keyboard.
