Position Summary
Handle clerical and office responsibilities, supporting the perishable receiving function.
Position Responsibilities
- Sign in drivers and direct them to the proper department.
- Match bill of lading to purchase orders.
- Door and dispatch all trucks and PO's.
- Print pallet tags.
- Adjust inventory due to overages, shortages, and damaged product accurately.
- Contact buyers for additional product sent on trucks to determine the need to receive or reject product.
- Organize door sheet and print copies.
- Organize next day's totals and communicate to supervision.
- Answer phones and handle calls as appropriate.
- Direct incoming backhaul loads to doors.
- Redirect calls for appointments to the correct department.
- Keep office equipment operational, reporting any equipment needs or repair issues.
Position Requirements
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge: General clerical, beginning PC skills, 10 key skills
Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group meetings. Ability to calculate figures and amounts and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Experience, Education and Training: High school diploma.
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment:
Indoors, with adequate cooling, heating, and adequate lighting. Outdoors as needed. Office is located within perishable warehouse therefore, while outside of office, exposed to moderate noise from industrial mobile equipment and varying cool temperatures within perishable warehouse.
