The Controller reports to the CFO and is responsible for maintaining financial reports, following Accounting policies and procedures, and managing the Accounting team and other direct reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
· Oversees the operations of Human Resources and Information Technology teams, which includes payroll and purchasing duties.
· Oversees training programs for the above personnel and identifies training needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Maintains the documented system of accounting policies and procedures; recommends updating as needed.
· Ensures the system of controls over accounting transactions are being followed to minimize risk.
· Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
· Reports significant budget differences and any transactions that will impact company’s financial performance.
· Ensures that Accounting and Payroll transactions are properly recorded and any issues are promptly corrected and resolved.
· Responsible for reconciliation of all accounts and ensuring that documentation is properly maintained for all related transactions and activities.
· Provides decision making to AR/AP for scenarios that require manager approval.
· Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits.
· Works with CPA to provide needed information for tax preparation and other
· Ensures Human Resources team is supported and all returns and payments are being processed and paid promptly.
· Ensures Technology team is supported and all I.T. purchasing and planning is reviewed and approved.
· Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
· Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

· Proficient in accounting and tax preparation procedures and software.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; or equivalent work experience.
· Eight to ten years or more of related experience required.
· Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation desired but not required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
