Job description
General Purpose:
The Maintenance Custodian is responsible to both the Awnex Ball Ground operations as well as the Awnex Jasper operations and works under the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Custodian performs a variety of cleaning and custodial work in offices, production areas, buildings and other facilities as well as routine and minor building maintenance assignments (paint, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, and scrub floors.
- Dust, clean furniture, and woodwork.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles.
- Clean restrooms and replenish sanitary supplies.
- Clean windows and mirrors.
- Clean breakroom surfaces.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Perform basic maintenance work on buildings such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical repairs.
- Operate and performs basic maintenance on power cleaning equipment.
- Transport and deliver materials and equipment between various locations.
- Notify the purchasing department of custodial supply requirements.
- Other duties may be assigned as required
Experience:
- At least two (2) years of responsible experience in custodial and maintenance work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50Lbs.
- Ability to perform basic building maintenance work and assignments.
- Ability to operate custodial cleaning equipment, use hand, and power tools.
- Ability to perform physical labor.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
