JOB TITLE: Master Scheduling Manager
Job Summary:
The Americas Refinish Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing, planning, controlling and generating an effective scheduling strategy to the master scheduler and/or detailed scheduler within an asset ensuring that the generated fixed detailed schedule (15 to 21 days), generated fixed volume plan (22 to 90 days), and the volume plan (91 to 730 days) is operating as efficient and feasible as possible. The Scheduling Manager is also responsible for all related company goals, and the success of these goals. The company goals associated with this role are providing guidance to balance and smooth the production plan at an asset, volume planning inventory for network distribution, back-order and open order fulfillment, batch and tank efficiency, scheduling optimization, rough-cut capacity reporting, rough-cut capacity escalation on a weekly and monthly basis, and presence and representation within IBP (Integrated Business Planning) in the Supply Review. The Scheduling Manager is responsible to review and escalate concerns to all managers and the Supply Chain Director, as well as operations/plant management.
The role requires strong collaboration with the Supply Chain Director that the incumbent will report to. This role will also require close collaboration with the Detailed Scheduler(s), Planning Resource Manager(s), Supply Planning Manager and Planner(s), and Demand Manager Planner(s) to meet or beat business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate suggested plan out of ERP system (SAP and associated tools). Adjust and check for optimal fixed detail and fixed volume plan.
- Audit capacity on a weekly basis to discuss constraints within supply chain, operations and execution team meetings.
- Reconcile material availability issues with raw material planning managers and/or resources.
- Audit, adjust and maintain appropriate batch lot sizing to meet or beat customer service levels and operations optimization.
- Review and update cycle times with operations management.
- Schedule plant maintenance down time in ERP Systems.
- Update and maintain material master data regarding the new product introduction process.
- Own and maintain MRP1, MRP2, MRP3, and MRP4 material master data in ERP Systems.
- Create the weekly and monthly rough-cut capacity to outline current capacity constraints within the asset.
- Weekly rough-cut capacity escalates through a weekly execution review.
Monthly rough-cut capacity escalated through the AIBM (Axalta Integrated Business Management).
- Suggest proper resource management per work center based on constraints and capacity analysis in forward looking weeks and months.
- Review best practices and strategies with operations management; suggesting simulations of “best in practice” scheduling/execution to schedule to meet customer requirements while also maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a ‘planning’ function for a manufacturing company.
- Minimum 2 years of people leadership experience.
Essential Skills/Knowledge:
- Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand and replenishment processes (MRP & DRP).
- Experience of Planning of batch processes in coatings or related industry strongly preferred.
- Experience managing short term projects.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
- Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
- Proficient in SAP & planning tools, MS office applications.
- Preferred knowledge of Six Sigma certification & Knowledge of Lean Methodologies.
