The Pipe Welder will be working in a pipe crew at a chemical manufacturing site. The crew typically works 10-hour days Monday thru Thursday, but members must be available to work overtime on weekdays and weekends when required. The welders will be welding on piping systems, coded vessels, and other mechanical work. This candidate will be a member of a 6–8-man pipe crew and jobs are typically assigned to teams of two from the crew. The site is in a manufacturing facility in Front Royal, VA.

- Knowledge of function-specific information systems
- Ability to kneel, squat, bend, crawl, reach, and negotiate small spaces.
- Ability to work OT as needed.
- Ability to work in various climates, extreme temps, etc.
- Creative thinker and eager learner.
- Be capable of working in confined spaces when required. Respirator required.
- Be capable of working at heights.
- Be available to work weekends and holidays, day before and after as needed.
- Be capable of forklift and JCB lift operation. (We will provide training when required).
- No contact lenses allowed on site.
- Be willing to do other mechanical jobs other than pipe work. Will discuss at interview.
- Must be available for call in emergency shutdowns.
- Be capable of lifting to 50lbs.
- Ability to read tape measurer.
- Ability to use power tools. Follow proper safety procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in an industrial environment working around solvents and chemicals.
- Must be able to determine proper material needed per task and procedure.
- Be available to work weekends and holidays, day before and after as needed.
- Be able to read and understand Piping and Instrument (P&I) drawings and isometric drawings.
- Must pass 6G welding certification test on Carbon Steel and Stainless-Steel Piping.
- Be able to fabricate and fit piping.
- Be capable of forklift and JCB lift operation. (We will provide training when required).
- No contact lenses allowed on site.
- Be willing to do other mechanical jobs than pipe work. Will discuss at interview.

- Minimum 2-year Pipe and/or Vessel repair welding experience in an industrial setting.
- Minimum 1 year Pipe fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Highschool Diploma/GED
- Must pass drug screening!
- Performs all duties in a safe working manner, following all of Axalta’s safety policies and procedures.
- Climbing on and work from fixed and portable ladders while wearing safety harness.
- Install mechanical equipment.
- Maintain an open line of communication with other line workers and supervisors to alert them to potential hazards and assembling issues.
- Ability to weigh tasks and prioritize the job assembly schedule to ensure on schedule delivery of the product.
- Ability to use mathematics that requires analysis.
- Ability to follow instructions.
