Rockets Test Engineer

Overview

Axient is seeking a Rockets Test Engineer to support our customer in Tullahoma, TN. 

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide technical support to the Space Branch in test and evaluation (T&E) activities for Rocket Test programs.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to plan, test, analyze, and report for rocket test programs.
• Coordinate with test customer and Air Force to develop, review, and implement test plan and contribute in the development of data analysis plans.
• Communicate and coordinate with test customer and test support team members (test manager, facility engineers, instrumentation, security, safety, etc.) that support preparation and execution of test.
• Maintain cognizance of all assigned Space Branch/Test Team engineering activities.
• Provide technical support during planning, developing test requirements, test buildup, and test activities.
• Support post-test data analysis and reviews and develop technical test reports.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain or have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field.
• Work is timely, efficient, and of acceptable quality. Completed work meets project/program objectives.
• Personal and organizational interactions exhibit and foster cooperation and teamwork, enhance customer relations, and actively promote rapport with customers.
• Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and at appropriate level.
• Utilize resources effectively to accomplish mission, including ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.
• Ability to respond positively and flexibly to significant changes in test focus or direction.
• Focused adherence to safety and security requirements.
• Familiarity with test & evaluation planning and processes consistent with DoD acquisition directives and policies is highly desired.
• Familiarity with ground test conduct, data analysis/evaluation, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of ground and flight test programs is highly desired.
