Overview
Axient is seeking a Senior Engingeer (System Safety) to support our customer in Beaufort SC.
Responsibilities
- The Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Branch and the System Safety Division directly supports the NAVAIR and NAWCAD mission priorities to acquire and sustain weapons systems in support of the United States Navy (USN) and United States Marine Corps (USMC).
- This SOW provides engineering and technical support for reliability, maintainability, testability, quality assurance, diagnostic and system safety analyses during the design, development, production and in-service cycles of all Naval aircraft and their systems.
- This support encompasses carrier based tactical aircraft, shipboard capable vertical/short takeoff and landing aircraft, maritime support aircraft, unmanned aircraft, tactical weapons systems, support systems and equipment and aircraft launch and recovery equipment.
- Performs tasks with little or no guidance. Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.
- Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems.
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
Qualifications
- Performs tasks with little or no guidance.
- Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.
- Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems.
- BS or BA degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, electronics, or aeronautics from an accredited college or university.
- At least ten (10) years of general or practical System Safety (SS) engineering and technical experience is required. SS experience should include solving complex SS problems through the use of SS probabilistic analysis, modeling, and risk assessment and evaluation.
- Aircraft, weapons systems, or aircraft support equipment development test and evaluation is desirable.
- TS or TS elgible (current Secret Clearance)
Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
